    First Lutheran Christian Academy school in Windsor was a sea of red and white on Friday as Olympic fever was in full swing.

    The students, from junior kindergarten to Grade 8, were decked out in Canadian colours to participate in Olympics with a twist. A few of the teachers had participated in the New Year, New You challenge in The Windsor Star and decided it was a great way to get kids motivated and incorporate the Olympic theme.

    The New Year Honours 1957 were appointments in many of the Commonwealth realms of Queen Elizabeth II to various orders and honours to reward and highlight good works bygd citizens of those countries. They were announced in supplements to the London Gazette of 28 månad 1956 to celebrate the year passed and mark the beginning of 1957.[1][2][3]

    At this time honours for Australians were awarded both in the United Kingdom honours, on the advice of the premiers of Australian states, and also in a separate Australia honours list.[2]
