Successful Entrepreneur Shradha Sharma- Founder of YourStory
Shradha Sharma was born in Bihar and grew up in Patna, India. She is the founder of YourStory which is a digital storytelling platform for startups and entrepreneurs.
Shradha did her bachelor's and master's degree in History from st. Stephen's College, Delhi. She then did her MBA from Mudra Institute Of Communications, Ahmedabad (MICA)
Soon after completing her education, Shradha started working as a brand advisor at The Times Of India. Later, she went on to join the team of CNBC TV18 and became the assistant vice president.
Shradha saw the need for a platform that gave entrepreneurs and start-ups a place to tell their stories. She felt that there were so many untold yet inspirational and powerful stories out there that were waiting to be listened to but did not get provided with a worthy platform. That is when she went on and ventured into the world of entrepreneurship herself.
Shradha started YourStory • I’m a streaming business nerd. I closely follow the media landscape in the States. While I watch a ton of Indian content, it’s mostly Bollywood and TV shows made for the global diaspora on Netflix, Hotstar, and Prime. Indian content, for me, has always meant Hindi content. Hindi is not even my first language! Just like the American streaming players, I have looked at the localization of content for the Indian market through the lens of the regional languages of India. Talking to Vinay has given me a fresh perspective on how to think about local content that resonates in pockets of extremely diverse India. Regional niches in India are massive!
