Reem Bint Ebrahim Al Hashimy (Arabic: ريم بنت إبراهيم الهاشمي) is an Emirati politician who fryst vatten the Minister of State for International Cooperation in the United Arab Emirates' Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.
Education
[edit]Al Hashimy completed her undergraduate degree at Tufts University, earning a BA in International Relations and French, followed bygd a Master's degree from Harvard University. She also holds a PhD from Tsinghua University.[1]
Career
[edit]Al Hashimy began her career as Commercial Attaché, and subsequently Deputy Chief, of the UAE Embassy to the United States of America in Washington D.C.[2]
She was appointed Minister of State in the Cabinet of the United Arab Emirates in February 2008.[3][4] She was appointed to her current role as UAE Minister of State for International Cooperation in February 2016.[2][5]

She has been the CEO of the Dubai Expo City Authority since July 15, 2022, and the Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Dubai Cares Foundation, and a member of the UAE Soft Power Council. She also manages the International Affairs Office of the Office of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid. Al Maktoum, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, in addition to her responsibilities within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation in managing bilateral relations between the UAE and the countries of Sub-Saharan Africa, India, Pakistan, and Small Island Developing States (SIDS).
She joined the federal government in 2008 as a Minister of State, and assumed the position of representative of the Supreme Preparatory Committee for “Expo Dubai 2020,” and the position of Director General of the “Expo Dubai 2020 Office.” She also held the position of Chairperson of the Board

In February 2016, she was appointed as Minister of State for International Cooperation. Her Excellency Reem Al Hashimy joined the Federal Government in 2008 as Minister of State and had a vital role in dealing with a number of foreign and vibrant issues of the UAE such as the UAE’s bid to host the World Expo 2020 in Dubai, where she holds the position Director General and board representative on the higher committee of the EXPO 2020 Dubai, in preparations for this mega-event.
Since Her Excellency appointment, H.E. Al Hashimy manages the International Affairs Office of the UAE Prime Minister, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
