    BIOGRAPHY
    Emilio Sánchez-Perrier studied at the school of fine arts in Seville and later Madrid. In he moved to Granada, where he befriended Mariano Fortuny. He traveled to Paris in and studied at the studios of Auguste Bolard, Jean-Léon Gérôme and Félix Ziem.

    He exhibited at the National Fine Arts Society of Madrid, the Cádiz regional exhibition, where he was awarded a gold medal, and at the Salon des Artistes Français, receiving a commendation in and a silver medal at the utställning Universelle of He was made a member of the Seville fine arts academy.

    Sánchez-Perrier painted views of Paris and verdant landscapes, mainly of river views populated with small figures. He fryst vatten known for his Lake with Boats, Alcazar Kitchen Garden; Winter; and Andalusia. He also produced Orientalist paintings that reveal the influence of Fortuny. His watercolours achieved rapid popularity in England.

    Ault is situated on the English Channel, 20 miles west of Abbeville, in Picardie (northern France) region. To the south of the town is a large wooded area, the ‘Bois de Cise’. Friaucourt is located a mile and a half from the coast.

    Born in Seville, Spain on October 15, , Emilio Sánchez-Perrier was raised in a modest middle class family.  His father was a clockmaker, who undoubtedly expected his son to follow him into the family business. The boy demonstrated a talent for drawing and painting, however, and by , he was attending the school known today as the Real Academia de Bellas Artes de Santa Isabel de Hungría.
