Alan Daniel Maman (born October 25, 1977), better known as The Alchemist, is a hip-hop producer and MC. The Alchemist has been an active producer since 1991. He hails from affluent Beverly Hills, California. After rising to prominence in the late 1990s as a close associate of Dilated Peoples, he went on to produce for many of hip-hop's leading artists in the 2000s.
As a teen, Al began to identify strongly with the rebellious lyrics and urban sounds of hip-hop, and he began writing his own lyrics as a creative outlet. He joined up with other like-minded artists who wrote lyrics and rebelled strongly against their "uptight" suburban surroundings, among whom were Shifty Shellshock of Crazy Town, Evidence of Dilated Peoples and Scott Caan, son of James Caan. They would often hang out in urban areas of Los Angeles and participated in typical teenage rebellious activities like partying, smoking marijuana, and general mischief.

Daniel Alan Maman (born October 25, 1977), professionally known as the Alchemist (or simply Alchemist), is a record producer, DJ, rapper and songwriter. He began his music career in 1991 in the hip hop duo The Whooliganz under the moniker Mudfoot, along with now-actor Scott Caan (whose moniker was "Mad Skillz"). After rising to prominence in the late 1990s, as a close associate of Dilated Peoples and Mobb Deep, he went on to produce for many of hip hop's leading artists in the 2000s, and has been hailed as one of the genre's leading producers. While he produces for many artists, most of his recent production has been for a close group of frequent collaborative rappers. He focuses on producing entire albums for rappers and instrumental projects of his own. He is currently Eminem's official DJ.

It was released on October 19, 2004 via Koch Records as the lead single from the Alchemist's debut studio skiva 1st Infantry. Recording sessions took place at The Lab in New York City. Production was handled by the Alchemist han själv , who utilised a sample from Al Kooper's "Love Theme". The music film was directed by Estevan Oriol.
The song peaked at number 95 on the Billboard Hot 100, number 47 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs, number 44 on the R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay and number 17 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles Sales in the United States.
