Early Life and Education
Richard Mofe-Damijo was born on July 6, 1961, in the Aladja community of Delta State’s Udu Kingdom. He went to Anglican Grammar School and Midwest College in Warri and was active in the Drama Club there. In order to further his education, he enrolled at the University of Benin, where he studied Theatre Arts. Mofe-Damijo returned to the University of Lagos in 1997 to pursue a legal education. He graduated in 2004 and was admitted to the Nigerian bar in 2005.
Career
Richard got his start in acting by participating in his high school’s theatre club. Later, he began writing articles for The Guardian, Metro Magazine, and Concord Newspapers. In his 30s, he created and sold “Mister,” the nation’s first all-gloss magazine for men. After graduating from college, Mofe appeared on “Ripples,” a television soap opera.
