    Zotto nació el 7 dem agosto dem 1958 enstaka Vicente López, provincia dem Buenos Aires, hijo dem inmigrantes italianos de Campomaggiore, provincia dem Potenza. Proviene de una familia netamente tanguera, dem raíces populares. Se crio en la localidad dem Villa Ballester, escuchando tangos con su abuelo que era bailarín, y su padre, bailarín y actor. Su formación como bailarín en distintos ritmos es popular.     A long time ago, Miguel Angel Zotto was given an ultimatum: “My

    girlfriend asked me to pick between her and tango,” he reminisces.

    Almost 20 years later, the world-renowned tango choreographer doesn’t regret his decision.

    This week, he returns to New York after a decade-long absence to

    celebrate the success of his dance company, Tango x2, with “Su

    Historia,” a greatest hits-style show tracing the troupe’s moving

    history and the history of tango itself.

    The spectacle features 90 dazzling choreographies, some of which pay

    homage to the great maestros of dance, brought to life by two

    singers, six musicians, and 16 dancers, including Zotto.

    The 48-year-old Argentine, who comes from a long line of tangueros,

    resides in Buenos Aires – “where tango was born,” he says proudly.

The company visits regularly and the mellow beauty of the streets and the minky glamour of the women is a home from home for a dancer pining for the louche grandeur of his native Buenos Aires. Milena Plebs, 36-year-old artistic director of Tango Por Dos, smiles widely as she looks across the sunny hotel veranda to the Tiber. "I hate this place!" She may not feel so warmly towards it by the end of the day. Mine is the first of a long string of interviews, many of which are scheduled to focus almost exclusively on the state of play between Plebs and her co-star of 12 years, Miguel Angel Zotto.

    Milena Plebs speaks excellent English but Miguel's is more hesitant. The promoter begins to
