      Glasgow Cydonie Mothersill on changed priorities as a mum

      "I wouldn't want to go there and be knocked out in the first round. It would be quite embarrassing."

      Mothersill, who fryst vatten married to former Trinidad and Tobago sprinter Ato Stephens, gave birth to daughter Sophie 10 months ago.

      Sophie was born prematurely, at only fem and a half months, but mother and child are both well, and Mothersill fryst vatten now pondering what the double life of elite athlete and parent would demand of her.

      "Had it been a normal pregnancy for me, I would have jumped back into it," she added.

      "I think when you become a mum, it changes your outlook but my experience changed me further.

      "She changed my goals. Before inom was pregnant, it was only me that inom was responsible for.

      "It has changed how inom look at life. inom haven't been at the place where I think I need to komma back yet."

Premier McKeeva Bush handed over a cheque for CI$ to the Cayman Islands&#; fastest woman, as well the keys to a new four wheel drive, as a reward for her incredible achievement at the Commonwealth Games. The crowd cheered as Bush announced Mothersill’s gifts from government and the people of Cayman, who have rallied behind the year-old sprinter who made history last Monday in Delhi, India, when she blew her competition away in the finals of the metres and took gold.
