Justine Simmons
Justine Simmons met her future husband when she was just a teenager. She and some of her friends attended a Kurtis Blow concert where she went backstage to meet the young DJ with the stage name 'The Son of Kurtis Blow.' His real name was Joseph Simmons, and his stage name soon became Run - one third of the groundbreaking rap group Run DMC.
The two didn't immediately form a lifelong bond, but instead moved on to other relationships. They eventually reconnected, and were married in 1994. By this time, Run had become 'Reverend Run,' an ordained reverend in the Pentecostal church. The couple had two children (in addition to the 3 children from Run's previous marriage) and, in 2005, premiered their show "Run's House" (MTV, 2005-09).
The reality show followed the Simmons' as they negotiated the highs and lows of raising a family. In 2006, the couple had a child who passed away shortly after being born, then adopted a baby, all while the cameras were watching.
