Mark Dailey’s Five-Part Series, “Journey To A Cure”
Mark Dailey was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2004, and immediately chose to document his treatments as a way of raising awareness. In his five-part series, ‘Journey To A Cure’, he bravely takes viewers along with him as he fights the disease, which will affect 1 in 6 Canadian men.
Dailey recently passed away, but his legacy lives on, through his family, friends, and fans, and through his prodigious efforts as an advocate for men’s health.

Citytv Mourns the Loss of Canadian Television Icon Mark Dailey
TORONTO, Dec. 6 /CNW/ – CityNews anchor and the voice of Citytv, Mark Dailey, died today at Sunnybrook
hospital in Toronto. He was 57. On September 8, 2010, Mark revealed on CityNews at Six that he had been diagnosed with kidney cancer. Mark is survived by his
wife, Kim Dailey and his daughter, Nicole.
“Mark was quite literally THE VOICE of Citytv and CityNews. He was smart, funny and a brilliant broadcaster. He touched so many
lives,” commented Tina Cortese, Vice President, News/Executive
Producer. “It’s a very difficult day for Citytv and a sad day for
Torontonians.”

For more than 30 years, Mark Dailey’s iconic baritone made him known to almost every Torontonian as “The Voice” of Citytv.
As reporter and anchor, he was best known as the commanding röst that announced: “Citytv, Everywhere” and offered irreverent introductions to the station’s regular late-night movies.
Mr. Dailey died Monday at Sunnybrook Hospital in Toronto after a battle with kidney cancer. He was 57.
“Mark was a complete original, very unique,” said Citytv anchor Gord Martineau. “He always had this innate sense to determine when stress levels were getting a little too high in the newsroom and he’d just säga something to crack everyone up.
