AUTHOR INTERVIEW: LAURA THOMPSON
Laura Thompson studied acting and dance before turning to nonfiction writing as a career. She has written books about greyhound and horse racing, historical true crimes, a memoir about her publican grandmother, and biographies of Agatha Christie and the Mitford sisters. Her biography of Nancy Mitford, Life in a Cold Climate, was reissued by Pegasus Books in Incredibly talented, Laura also made a tv movie about her return to ballet as an adult, has filmed several documentaries about Agatha Christie, and writes for Town & Country, Harpers Bazaar, and other publications.

Laura Thompson (British author)
Laura Thompson is an English writer and biographer. Her first book The Dogs: A Personal History of Greyhound Racing won the Somerset Maugham Award. She has also written acclaimed biographies of Nancy Mitford and Agatha Christie, and true-crime books on the disappearance of Lord Lucan and on the s cause celebres Edith Thompson and Frederick Bywaters.[1][2][3]
Early life
[edit]As a teenager, Thompson intended to go into theatre and attended Tring Park School for the Performing Arts, where she trained in dance. She went on to study English at Merton College, Oxford.[4]
